Ew AI was built with a simple principle: what happens on your phone stays on your phone. We don't collect, store, or sell your data.
For those who don't want to read the full policy — here's what matters most.
Ew AI does not collect, store, or share any personal information about you. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no ad tracking, and no servers of ours that store your data. When you scan food, your photo is sent to OpenAI's API to power the analysis — that's the only time any data leaves your device, and we never see it ourselves.
We want to be completely transparent. Ew AI collects none of the following — not now, not ever.
There are no user accounts to create and no sign-in required. No profile of you is ever built.
Ew AI requests access to your camera and photo library for one reason only: so you can photograph or select a food image to analyze. These permissions are not used for anything else.
Here's the exact lifecycle of your image from the moment you tap "Disgust Me."
Before anything leaves your device, your photo is resized and compressed locally on your iPhone or iPad — maximum 1024px on the long edge, JPEG quality 0.8. This reduces file size and speeds up the analysis.
The compressed image is transmitted to OpenAI's API (GPT-4o for food identification and gpt-image-1 for image transformation). This is the only point at which your image leaves your device — and it goes directly to OpenAI, not to us.
The AI-generated transformation is downloaded and shown to you on the results screen. Both the original and the generated image exist only in the app's active memory during your session.
When you tap "Try Another" or close the app, all images are cleared from memory. Nothing is written to your device's permanent storage, and nothing is retained on any server we control.
Ew AI uses OpenAI's API to power food analysis (GPT-4o) and image transformation (gpt-image-1). When you submit a food photo, it is transmitted to OpenAI's servers for processing. We do not control OpenAI's data practices.
OpenAI may retain API inputs for a limited period in accordance with their own policies. We encourage you to review OpenAI's Privacy Policy for full details on how they handle data submitted through their API.
Other than OpenAI, Ew AI does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or data-sharing services.
Ew AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. The app's content — including graphic, deliberately revolting AI-generated imagery and dark humor — is intended for a general adult audience.
We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app and has a concern, please contact us at the address below and we will respond promptly.
If our privacy practices change, we will update this page with a revised effective date. Because we don't collect email addresses or any contact information, we cannot notify you directly — so check back here if you ever have questions.
Any significant changes will be clearly noted at the top of this page.
